“UMA ANALOGIA DO APÊNDICE N PARA SHADOWRUN”
“APPENDIX N ANALOGY FOR SHADOWRUN” - english version below
[PORTUGUESE
– BR]
Eu comecei a citar algumas fontes e
acabei procurando pela internet a respeito disso. Infelizmente achei poucos
tipos diferentes:
LIVROS/ROMANCES/FICÇÃO:
# “A Trilogia do Sprawl” do Gibson - livros
hackers, samurais urbanos, implantes, matrix...
-Count
Zero – William Gibson
-Monalisa Overdrive – William Gibson
Adaptadas”...
# Séries “Foundation” e “Robot” do Isaac
a ambientação...
# “Fuga de Los Angeles” (1996), o mesmo
acima...
# “Johnny Mnemonic” (1995), implantes,
segredos e megacorps...
# “Dredd” (2012)
# “O Vingador do Futuro” (1990/2012),
# “Pandorum” (2009)
# “Missão Babilônia” (2008)
# “Expresso do Amanhã” (2013), pensei
alguma megacorp...
# “No Limite do Amanhã” (2014), imagina
(1995)
# “A Fortaleza” (1992)
# “Runaway – Fora de Controle” (1984)...
vendo esse filme eu imagino um rigger...
# Filmes do “Robocop” (1987, 1990, 1993
e 2014)
# “O Livro de Eli” (2010)... distopia...
# “Minority Report: A Nova Lei” (2002)
# Filmes do “Aliens” (1986, 1986, 1992,
1997)
# "A Ilha" (2005)
# "Gattaca - Experiência Genética" (1997)
# "Hackers - Piratas de Computador" (1995)
# "A Ilha" (2005)
# "Gattaca - Experiência Genética" (1997)
# "Hackers - Piratas de Computador" (1995)
# “Resident Evil” (2002)... desconsiderando
# “Freejack – Os Imortais” (1992)...
# “Akira”
(1988)
# “O Fantasma do Futuro” e “O Fantasma
do Futuro 2: A Inocência” (1995/2004)... odeio a tradução do nome desse título
pro português...
# “Cowboy Bebop” (2001/2002)
# “13º Andar” (1999)
# “O Preço do Amanhã” (2011)
# “Tron” e “Tron, o Legado”
(1982/2010)...
# “Blade Runner, o Caçador de Androides”
(1982), um dos melhores filmes já feitos...
# "O Destruidor" (1992)
# "O Destruidor" (1992)
Obviamente desconsiderei aqui todas as
séries e filmes do tipo “Star”...
# “Spycraft” RPG
# “Shadowrun
Crossfire”, “Race for the Galaxy”, “Level 7 – Omega Protocol”, "Android Netrunner"
eu me lembrar começo a fazer outra lista pra um futuro novo post.
Obrigado pela leitura e deixem abaixo
suas sugestões...
[ENGLISH]
Last
week, one player of my RPG group asked me about inspirational fonts about
Shadowrun because he wanted to get “in the mood” of this system scenario, in
which we will begin a new campaign directed by me.
I
started to quote some sources and went looking in the internet about it. Sadly
I found few texts in blogs and forum about this, situation that inspired me to
write this post.
Inspired
also by “Appendix N” of our beloved 1979’s AD&D, I divided my suggestions
in different types:
BOOKS/NOVELS/FICTION:
# The
“Sprawl Trilogy” from Gibson – the books that in my opnion are nearest to Shadowrun...
megacorps, hackers, urban samurai, implants, matrix...
-Neuromancer
– William Gibson
-Count
Zero – William Gibson
-Monalisa Overdrive – William Gibson
# “Do
Androids Dream of Eletric Sheep?” of Philip K. Dick – book that inspired the
movie Blade Runner... lots of inspiration... furthermore, I suggest any
collection of tales from this author... in Brazil I recommend: “Realidades
Adaptadas”...
# “Foundation”
and “Robot” Series from Isaac Asimov, describe a dystopic future and
man-machine interactions...
MOVIES/ANIME/SERIES:
# “Matrix”
Trilogy (1999-2003) – no explanation needed...
# “Equilibrium”
(2002)... for gun katta... reminds me a bit of adepts...
# “Escape
from New York” (1981), all themed in cyberpunk...
# “Escape
from L. A.” (1996), same as above...
# “Johnny
Mnemonic” (1995), implants, secrets and megacorps...
# “Dredd”
(2012)
# “Total
Recall” (1990/2012), both versions are inspiring, but the atmosphere of the
recent remake fits much well in Shadowrun
# “Riddick”
Trilogy (2000-2013), sci-fi, bizarre monsters (they could be wasteland
aberrations)...
# “Pandorum” (2009)
# “Babylon A.D.” (2008)
# “Snowpiercer”
(2013), I thought about a group of runners travelling by train... or rescuing
something from a megacorp train...
# “Edge
of Tomorrow” (2014), imagine it replacing the aliens for astral creatures...
# “Soylent
Green” (1973)
# “Screamers”
(1995)
# “Fortress”
(1992)
# “Runaway”
(1984)... reminds me of riggers...
# “Robocop”
movies (1987, 1990, 1993 and 2014)
# “The
Book of Eli” (2010)... dystopic...
# “Minority
Report” (2002)
# “Aliens”
movies (1986, 1986, 1992 and 1997)
# "The Island" (2005)
# "Gattaca" (1997)
# "Hackers" (1995)
# "The Island" (2005)
# "Gattaca" (1997)
# "Hackers" (1995)
# “Resident Evil” (2002)... IF you subtract the
Zombies, it’s a movie about a megacorp invasion...
# “Freejack” (1992)...
# “Akira” (1988)
# “Ghost
In The Shell” e “Ghost In The Shell: Innocence” (1995/2004)... I hate the
tranlation of this title to portuguese...
# “Cowboy Bebop” (2001/2002)
# “The
13th Floor” (1999)
# “In
Time” (2011)
# “Tron” and “Tron - Legacy”
(1982/2010)...
# “Blade
Runner” (1982), one of the Best movies ever made...
# "Split Second" (1992)
# "Split Second" (1992)
Here
in this text I put aside all the series and movies of “Star” style… Star Wars
and Star Trek… I believe they are awesome but a little out of context when talking about Shadowrun…
RPGS/VIDEOGAMES/BOARDGAMES:
# All
of “Fallout”, “X-Com”and “Front Mission”
# "Deus Ex - Human Revolution"
# “Cyberpunk 2020”, RPG system
# “Cyberpunk 2020”, RPG system
# “AEON/Trinity”...
one of the coolest RPG ever made, published by WhiteWolf in the past… it used the
“d10” system and mixed cyberpunk with super heroes... awesome!
# The
supplements of GURPS: “High Tech”, “Ultra-Tech”
and “Cyberpunk”
# “Spycraft”
RPG
# “Shadowrun
Crossfire”, “Race for the Galaxy”, “Level 7 – Omega Protocol”, "Android Netrunner"
It’s
a long list but I’m sure it could be longer than that!
Anime,
series or movies fanboys, pardon me if I forgot one or other title…
Certainly
I left something important out of this list, but when it is back to my memory I
will save it for another list in the future…
Thank
you for the reading and I appreciate some comments and suggestions...
Ah, sorry for my poor English…
